Once upon a time, EME scheds were made by writing letters or making expensive international telephone calls. Then came email, enabling scheds to be made with much shorter notice. Email is still widely used for setting up scheds between known stations, but for near real time we now have access to logger sites. These are very handy for finding sched partners, as well as finalizing such details as a clear frequency. Of course no communication should take place via the logger during a contact, or at least no communication of information relevant to completing the contact.
There seem to be four logger sites in common use by EME operators:
1. Ping Jockey (or PJ) run by Chris N0UK/G4JEC, comprising 3 separate pages:
JT65 EME-1 at http://www.chris.org/cgi-bin/jt65emeA
JT65 EME-2 at http://www.chris.org/cgi-bin/jt65emeB
CW EME at http://www.chris.org/cgi-bin/cw-eme
2. ON4KST Chat (any mode) at http://www.on4kst.info/chat/login.php?band=5
3. EME Propagation Logger by DX World (mostly CW) at http://dxworld.com/emprop.html
4. HB9Q Logger at http://hb9q.ch/
From my experience, most digital stations on 144MHz are to be found on jt65emeA at the PJ logger.
